Limousine ignites an exuberant expression, an elegant style, an aura of richness and grace. A luxury car, also popular known as a saloon sedan, Limousine is a stretched vehicle which is generally driven by a chauffer. Generally a Limo is of two shades. Black or White. The former reflecting mystery, style, enigma depth and the latter signifying elegance, purity and speckles repute. More or less Limos are used for special occasions be it weddings, high profile get together, movie premieres or corporate celebrations.
Limousine passengers are elite. Government officials, top notch politicians, Chief executive officers or esteemed clients, they all find their seat in the most coveted transportation mode on road. As limousine not only offers luxury, the enhanced security features with bullet proof glass also serves the purpose of transporting VIP personnel.
The feature of being driven by chauffeur is what makes it so admirable in its segment. Bureaucrats, corporate heads, politicians or people occupying high positions in the government usually discuss a lot of campaigns, strategies and other important matters which they do not wish to be over heard by anyone. Thus the chauffer driving the car in his cabin partitioned by a sound proof glass window gives complete autonomy to the passengers and can discuss anything privileged without being concerned about the driver.
Limousine history dates back to 1900, when the first limo was introduced inspired by a horse cart. Thus its length is longest as compared to the other cars introduced during that time. Over the years the design, the make, the interiors and the engine have witnessed a great change and the modern day limo is surely a wonder on roads. With all the ultra modern technical gadgets for communication, entertainment and security the car is anyone's dream.
On analyzing the various kinds of limos available, we first come across Hummer Limousines. Hummer limos have an unbelievable capacity of more than 24 passengers. The car has a television set, a bar area and even a gaming console. The only requirement is that the driver should be really an expert. Lincoln limos though have a lesser capacity are equipped with better and sophisticated technology. Stretch Limos are a real beauty and are magnificent and heavenly to be driven. A married couple riding in a stretch limo gives a perfect ending to the ceremony. Though maneuvering and driving gets a bit complicated due to its length, yet the basic idea of driving or being seated in a stretch limo is exciting. Party Bus limos are good for larger groups to travel together, but are extremely costly.
Limousines be of any kind or make, the very mention of it builds perception of richness and extremes of luxury. Mercedes, BMW, Jaguar, Land Rover are all big names rolling out hundreds of limousines every year. People have showcased their wealth and power through various means and possessing costly modes of transportation has been everyone's charm for quite long. In the list owning a limousine is surely a prized possession.
Recent versions of limousine include the Mercedes-Benz introduced S600 Pullman Guard Limousine in India. Its special protection unit has already provided various luxury limousines for business tycoons, politicians and the crème de la crème of India.
Jaguar has also launched a new limousine which has special safety and protection features which have been specifically designed for prime ministers or the other important dignitaries of the state. The new Limo from Jaguar is equipped with gadgets ranging from a high definition television, hi-fi speakers, iPod, and voice control radio, phone etc.
